Yes. A solar cover lets the sun heat the water and stops that heat escaping overnight, which can add several degrees over a warm spell. It also cuts evaporation, so you top up and treat the water less.
It is worth it if you have young children or pets. Removable fencing sections drop into sockets around the pool and lift out when you want the space back. A safety cover does a similar job when the pool is not in use.
